The CTA project was put in place to accommodate the impact of the proposed new Stansted Airport Arrivals Terminal building on the existing Common Travel Areas and passenger routes.
Imus were appointed as the lead designer to develop a CTA scheme that provides an intuative and unobstructed route for Domestic Arrivals passengers and passengers with restricted movement (PRM) from the coaching drop off points at Apron level and into the terminal building. Vertical circulation to the Immigration Hall is via designated stairs and passenger lifts, to routes through Border Control and on to Baggage Reclaim Hall. Passenger segregation and the provision of DDA facilities was at the core of the design.
In addition, the final scheme design includes the construction of a new PRM reception and welfare facility at Apron level with direct access to a vertical circulation route to the Level 10 and on to the Immigrations Hall.Back to projects
